Google Launches Android Wear 2.0

Google Launches Android Wear 2.0

The next iteration to Android Wear with version 2.0 will be available for all supported smartwatches in the coming weeks, Google has announced.

LG has associated itself with Google to design a new range of Android Wear 2.0 wearables to cater to the demanding younger generation.

Android Wear 2.0 makes the wearable devices truly standalone. One interesting thing to note is that Android Wear 2.0 comes with a keyboard to type your responses on. This update is a welcome improvement and will give the much needed boost to the stagnant smartwatch industry. Google first showcased the software at Google I/O past year. See how to update Android Wear manually. The process to change Watch Faces is as easy as flicking left or right instead of long pressing on the screen to go to a screen where you can change the watch faces.

Check out the video at the top of the page for an in-depth preview of Android Wear 2.0. One can also draw emojis and reply quickly to texts with "Smart Reply" feature. You'll be able to, hopefully, reply to messages and get directions simply by saying "OK Google".

Google didn't say if the limitation will be permanent, but added that payment networks are very strict when it comes to data security and an unlocked bootloader could represent a vulnerability for the user. Google is calling it "the most significant Android Wear update since its launch". The Sport features two additional physical buttons that activate Android Pay and Google Fit. This of course doesn't mean that all apps will work standalone. The Sport model comes with NFC for payments, dedicated buttons for Google Fit and Android Pay, and is available in the U.S. at AT&T, Verizon and the Google Store, from 10 February. With Google Fit, users can reach their fitness goals through activities tracking, strength training and coaching.

Navigation and notification will now look simpler with Android Wear 2.0. You can add multiple cards, just as it is on your Android phone, but if you activate Android Pay, the OS will compulsorily ask you to set a lock screen for added security.

At launch you have three places to buy the latest LTE-connected Android Wear watch. On this backdrop that Google launched the Android Wear 2.0, thar powers Android smartwatches, on February 8 this year.

If your watch has a cellular connection, you can make calls and use your watch apps no matter where your phone is. He also said, "While traditional watches tell the time, Android Wear watches make the most of your time". However, over the course of time, interest in smartwatches has dropped so did the sales.

Both the smartwatches feature a plastic OLED display.

This is paired with a mass of high-end features, including an integrated heart rate sensor, inbuilt Global Positioning System and even its own 4G LTE connectivity options, meaning it doesn't need to be synced to a smartphone.
