Fox Digital Entertainment and Wooga confirm that Futurama will return as a mobile game

CNet reported that game developer Wooga, based in Berlin, Germany, announced that it is collaborating with Fox Digital Entertainment to turn the sci-fi cartoon series into a mobile game. Players will also need to connect groups of delivery drones in order to solve puzzles as they visit iconic locations from the Futurama series.

"Futurama: Release the Drones" is a war between shipping rivals, where MomCo will be Planet Express' nemesis. The game will feature the Planet Express crew fighting the villainous MomCo.

Futurama: Game of Drones does not have a specific release date yet, but for sure it will be available in our mobile screens in the near future.

Wooga is hiring some pretty big names for Game of Drones, which hopefully means it'll be worthy of the Futurama licence. After its cancellation, Comedy Central picked up the series in 2008, and cancelled it again in 2013.

More stores open doors on Thanksgiving
One of the busiest shopping days of the year, Black Friday , has area retailers preparing for an onslaught of shoppers. Many retailers are feeling the competitive pressure to begin Black Friday sales even earlier - on Thanksgiving Day.

He will be joining forces with Patric Verrone, one of Futurama's executive producers and writers in its final years, who has been acclaimed for imagining episodes such as "That's Lobstertainment!" and "The Problem with Popplers".

There is no word, however, on when the game is expected to launch and on what platforms, or whether the original cast-Billy West, Katey Segal, John DiMaggio-will return to voice their characters. Both games have been in the form of free-to-play games and it won't be a surprise if "Futurama: Game of Drones" will also adapt the concept.

According to Greg Latham, Wooga public relations manager, the game will be released for and iOS devices as well.
