Trump faces questions of interference in investigations
By Darlene Powers Apr 02, 2017Spicer's claims, which are retreads from the campaign, have been repeatedly debunked.
"Unmasking is not unprecedented, but unmasking for political purposes ... specifically of Trump transition team members ... is highly suspect and questionable", an intelligence source told Fox News.
Trump, who claimed that President Obama had his "wires tapped" at Trump Tower, said he felt "somewhat" vindicated after speaking to Nunes.
A senior White House official said late yesterday that Schiff met with Trump at the White House, but the lawmaker made no reference to meeting the president in his remarks, instead reserving his remarks to his review of the documents.
For instance, there is Mike Flynn, who was sacked as national security adviser for lying to the vice-president about contacts with the Russian ambassador, who is now asking for immunity from the Senate Intelligence Committee to tell what he knows about Russian interference in the 2016 election and any role the Trump campaign played.
"In the absence of the appropriate agency representatives it will not be possible to understand the full content and context of any documents we may review", Schiff said in a .
But, she emphasized in a Twitter post Wednesday, she had no information of her own, and was merely in contact with her former colleagues at the White House.
"The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington?" This is a body blow for Nunes, who presented his findings last week as if they were surprising to the White House. "That leadership is long overdue".
As GOP schism grows, Trump attacks fellow Republicans
The discord following the healthcare debacle was not limited to tensions between Trump and the Freedom Caucus . A top aide to President Donald Trump is urging the primary defeat of a conservative House member from MI .
The approach appears to be based, at least in part, on the White House's anxiety over the Russian Federation investigations, which threaten to seriously weaken his presidency.
On Thursday, the administration announced its first major staff adjustment, with Deputy Chief of Staff Katie Walsh leaving to oversee an outside political group that supports the president's agenda.
While committee officials have rebuffed that offer, the panels want to talk to Flynn about meetings he had with the Russian ambassador to the USA before Trump was inaugurated and before Flynn was legally allowed to conduct foreign policy, among other ethical issues.
But Walsh, one of the few top women in the West Wing, was never a likely fit in the Trump administration. This is the same Flynn who led the Clinton "lock-her-up" chanting at the GOP convention. In the clip, Spicer was asked how the White House plans to improve their image after all the allegations of Russian ties. (D-N.J.), who reportedly went to a back room after voting for the third article of impeachment, called his wife and wept, telling her, "I hope we've done the right thing"; and Barbara Jordan (D-Tex.), who advised the committee that the United States had come too far for her "to sit here and be an idle spectator to the diminution, the subversion, the destruction of the Constitution".
But Washington's fixation with Trump and Russian Federation is not universally shared in the rest of the nation - especially among Trump voters who show little sign so far of deserting their champion despite his political troubles.
The White House has refused to comment on the Times report, but has not dismissed it outright. He also noted the White House isn't anxious.
What's the best way to get to the truth about Russian involvement in the election and Trump campaign collusion? If members of the National Security Council staff had unearthed material in the normal course of business bearing on the handling of intelligence material, why was it left to Nunes to brief the president? And as president-elect, Hayden said, Trump would have had access to much of this information. But Nunes cancelled this week's hearings, and has almost paralyzed the committee's work. I used to work at the NSC. I mean, if not, who's going to ever come to our committee?
Bloomberg's Eli Lake has defended Nunes, even offering his take on the much-discussed White House visit.
