If Israelis and Palestinians make peace it may spread across region
By Norman Carr May 24, 2017The attack came as US President Donald Trump was on a visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories as part of his maiden foreign tour.
The Palestinian president greeted Trump outside the presidential palace and the two men walked along a red carpet onto its grounds.
US President Donald Trump arrived in Italy on Tuesday ahead of meetings with Pope Francis and Italian leaders, on the third leg of his first global trip since taking office. "We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom", .
"It must cease immediately", he asserted. Instead of saying thank you to the United States, they now feel emboldened. Rouhani said that Iranians are "waiting for this government to become stable intellectually" and that "hopefully, things will settle down ... so we could pass more accurate judgments". They can't do it.
"I call upon people to draw inspiration from this ancient city to set aside our sectarian differences to overcome oppression and hatred", he said.
"Iran's leaders routinely call for Israel's destruction".
Mr Abbas said he was keen to "keep the door open to dialogue with our Israeli neighbours".
"I know you've heard it before".
"We know, for instance, that both Israelis and Palestinians seek lives of hope for their children".
"We'll talk about it in dinner", Sara Netanyahu told Trump.
Trump reiterated the USA stance against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
LeBron James and Cavaliers run riot over Boston Celtics in National Basketball Association mismatch
For whatever flaws and inconsistencies they have had in this mostly rewarding season, the Celtics are generally a resilient lot. Cavaliers: James is first player with at least 30 points in eight straight playoff games since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1970.
President Trump began his second day in Israel with a strong and somber denouncement of terror that rocked England the night before - and assurances that he could score peace deals in the Middle East.
"For us, nothing has changed yet", Abu Sada said. "My administration is committed to pursuing such a coalition, and we have already made substantial progress during this trip". "I think a lot of that progress has been made because of the aggression of Iran and it's forcing people together in a very positive way", the USA president said.
Trump added: "I can see a much deeper path, friendship with Israel".
Trump is squandering that opportunity - which is why his braggadocio about resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be taken with a Dead Sea's worth of salt. A few blocks from where Trump and Abbas spoke, a rally was being held in support of the hunger strike. "I think it is a very noble endeavor".
President Donald Trump delivered a speech Jerusalem reaffirming his desire to get the ultimate deal done: resolving the century-long conflict between Israel and Palestine.
It also urges a "just settlement" of the Palestinian refugee problem.
"Never mentioned during the conversation", he said, as Netanyahu smiled in consternation.
Prior to the meeting, dozens of Palestinians gathered near the Church of Nativity, the site Christians believe where Jesus was born, to protest Trump's visit.
Clashes broke out near a checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah involving several hundred stone-throwing youths and Israeli soldiers who responded with rubber bullets and tear gas, leaving at least one wounded. Unlike past USA presidents who have drawn clear lines for both sides to follow in order to achieve a deal, Trump has offered little - if not inconsistent - public guidance for the Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
Unlike Saudi Arabia, which occasionally holds elections for municipal councils, Iran regularly holds elections for president, parliament and other posts.
