Cavaliers sweep past Raptors into conference finals
By Kelly Sanders May 08, 2017
"Good shot", said a reporter.
If you are a betting man/woman, you might want to lay some money on the Cleveland Cavaliers to sweep the Toronto Raptors today. "Sunday's game is about pride".
"Everybody's upset", said Norman Powell. We do not need to be thinking about a sweep or getting rest.
You'd be paying $130 million before luxury tax for a team that hasn't shown any evidence that it could beat Cleveland. "That's what's going to happen". You could see how the Raptors could see the silver lining of two blowout losses in Cleveland.
The clawing continued with Fred VanVleet bringing Toronto within just one point of tying up the game in the fourth. "We pride ourselves all year off things like that, being down, being resilient, giving everything we've got and just fight". Add in Love, and that's three of the best four players on the floor in any Eastern Conference series.
NOTES: Toronto activated C Lucas Nogueira for Game 4 after PG Kyle Lowry (sprained left ankle) was scratched from the lineup. Us as players, we've gotta be ready for whatever.
But through Cleveland's first seven playoff games, the defending champs look as dominant as ever. That was the result of it - a close game.
Coach Dwane Casey also wondered what might have been. This is a game the Cavs should run away with assuming Lowry doesn't play.
Zuccarello leads Rangers to 4-1 win over Senators in Game 3
He's tied for the team lead in goals this postseason, with four, and uninterested in dwelling on his performance in Game 3. The Americans were even more dominant against the Germans, who beat Russian Federation to earn a spot in the semifinals.
This is the third year in a row Cleveland has made the Eastern Conference Finals, this is the 7th season in a row LeBron James has made the Eastern Conference Finals.
On Sunday, after the Celtics broke a 48-48 halftime with the first five points of the second half, they went scoreless for a stretch of 6:28 while committing eight turnovers. They were making shots, the Cavs were missing, and Toronto went up by 11 points - their highest lead of the series.
There are questions to be answered just as there are any time a season falls short of the ultimate goal. Down 0-3, it's impossible to win, I guess (according to) the odds. "So I commend all my teammates". If the Raptors wanted to make a play for, say, Chris Paul, they would probably be considered. Toronto's homegrown star put a stamp on his season of exponential growth in Game 4.
DeMar DeRozan scored 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting.
LeBron James scored 35 points on Friday night as the Cavs moved within one game of a series sweep.
"It feels bad, it hurts to lose. That's the mindset I felt like all of us had". "We've got to learn from that". There are decisions to be made by the Raptors' braintrust. Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) argues over a call with referee Tony Brothers during the second half of Game 4 of a second-round NBA basketball playoff series against the Toronto Raptors in Toronto, . The series against Washington can go either way, but they'll honestly have little shot against the Cavaliers if they get that far.
James was thinking of other numbers, however. That time has yet to arrive, though, as James continues to give us hard evidence that he's never going to lose his world-class athleticism.
