Michael Simkovic

Professor Simkovic’s research focuses on the intersection between law and finance, with a particular emphasis on credit markets, financial regulation, and taxation. His work has appeared in leading journals including The University of Chicago Law Review, The Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of Legal Studies. In 2015, he received the American Law Institute’s Young Scholars Medal and became an elected member of the American Law Institute.

In 2012, he won the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers award for Best Professional Article. In 2013, 2014, and 2015 he was voted among the most influential in legal education by National Jurist Magazine.

Olmsted, Mildred Scott (Peace Activists)
The devastation of war on the population, particularly in famine-wracked Bavaria, led her to pursue a life of peace activism. During World War I Olmsted joined the American Friends Service Committee to provide relief to war-torn France and Germany.

He is a frequent contributor to Brian Leiter’s Law School Reports, and has published in The Washington Post and The New York Times Dealbook.
