China Mobile planning for April 2016 launch of 'iPhone 6c'

The talk started when KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is more often right than wrong with his Apple predictions, forecast in November that Apple will release a new, four-inch iPhone in 2016. "9to5Mac&txt=Chinese website "MyDrivers">MyDrivers (via 9to5Mac) has become privy to the China Mobile product roadmap for 2016, which explicitly references a new Apple product. Earlier reports had indicated that Apple will name the upcoming 4 inch iPhone, an iPhone 6c. Somewhat confusingly, these reports seem to be claiming that Apple will launch an "iPhone 7c" before the actual "iPhone 7".

Up until now, most rumours have referred to the mystery device as the iPhone 6C. Recently we saw a leaked China Mobile roadmap presentation slide that suggested a March release for the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7. It is expected to be powered by an A9 processor and support Apple Pay, according to AppleInsider. For what it's worth, it's likely that the "7c" moniker is a mistake given that it would be completely out of character for Apple to jump the gun on its iPhone 7 naming cycle.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the iPhone 6c is said to feature the same innards as the iPhone 5S, notable the Touch ID.

The deal is believed to be in advanced stages and estimated to be worth £200million. "If Bill Kenwright says it's okay - yes, let's get it done".

There does appear to be significant demand for 4-inch smartphones in the market.

Looks like the iPhone 6c will hit the shelves in April 2016, probably after an announcement in March.

The iPhone 6C will be offered in three colour variants like gold, silver and black, with the handset expected to carry a price tag of 3000 Yuan ($463). It will feature an 8-megapixel camera in the rear. The yet-to-be-released phone will feature a 4-inch touch display, much like his predecessor.
