Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo Suffers Collarbone Injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is done for the 2015 season after suffering a hairline fracture in his collarbone. While Cam Newton was doing the twist for the undefeated Panthers, Tony Romo and the Cowboys were in no mood to dance.

Romo's latest injury has fueled speculation that the Cowboys had rushed him back to the field, but head coach Jason Garrett was quick to dispel that notion. "We're prepared for all the runs we're going to see", Edwards said. "Defence went out there and brought their A-game and made our job a lot easier".

Still, Romo has suffered shoulder and back injuries in recent seasons and this year he's broken his collarbone, possibly twice.

He was 11 of 21 with 106 yards and a 27.2 passer rating. I really put our team in a hole. "That's what I did today, and I have to live with that". The Panthers would lead 23-3 at the end of the first half, and fans were loving it.

Tony Romo is now 35, and will have to try to return next season after two consecutive serious injuries.

The 45 combined rushing yards are the fewest in a two-game stretch in team history and vaulted the Panthers from eighth to second in the NFL in rushing defense with 88.7 yards allowed per game. He missed the last 15 games with Carolina last season because of his arrest in a domestic violence case...

Bowles said Marcus Williams will start in Revis' place opposite Antonio Cromartie in the secondary. That is a really long drought and it's worth pointing out the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl without a 1st round pick under center since he retired. He had previously beaten Indianapolis at 9-0 in his fourth career start in 2006 and New Orleans at 13-0 three years later.

Stephen Jones said Thursday that Romo's previous break was fully healed before he played against Miami. "But in my eyes, he'll always be Captain America because he makes every play, he shows up and he prepares extremely well".

Carolina's defence stifled the Cowboys' attack which included two interceptions by Panther linebacker Luke Kuechly in the second quarter.

"On some of the throws, my brain should have just gone down to the check down versus that coverage". Even if Newton doesn't explode offensively for a bunch of yards, Carolina's defense has proven to be more than capable of winning a game.

The injury means Matt Cassel, who went 0-4 during Romo's initial absence, will be entrusted with finishing out this 3-8 season.

The Cowboys should have a definitive answer on Romo's health Friday. "I didn't want him to catch a single ball".
