NFL Week 5 Predictions: Will Patriots cover spread vs. Bucs? 10/5/17

NFL Week 5 Predictions: Will Patriots cover spread vs. Bucs? 10/5/17

Neither Tom Brady nor Jameis Winston were particularly sharp, but the Patriots did enough at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. He completed all 10 of his throws in the second quarter, resulting in 100 yards and a touchdown, and he took advantage of Bucs linebackers attempting to hold their own against the Patriots running backs. More physical damage may be forthcoming if the Patriots (3-2) don't provide better protection.

It looks like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are done with kicker Nick Folk after last night's three missed field goals in their 19-14 loss to the New England Patriots.

On offense, they've got a budding star at quarterback in Jameis Winston, one of the league's best receivers in Mike Evans, a big-money playmaker in DeSean Jackson, and underrated pass-catchers like Cameron Brate and Adam Humphries.

The Buccaneers have a good win streak at home.

Buccaneers: Played with three defensive starters - LBs Lavonte David (ankle) and Kwon Alexander (hamstring), and S Keith Tandy (hip). The former Arizona Wildcat went 0/3 in his field goal attempts and his team lost by five points.

Tom Petty hailed as a musical giant
Rolling Stone reported that Petty's final concert on September 25 was the culmination of a 53-date tour that kicked off in April. Petty and his band ended each show on their final tour with the song, which the rocker first recorded in studio on July 4, 1976.

Only Doug Martin - returning after a three-game suspension - looked like a trustworthy option, rushing for 74 yards and a score. That's a couple feet off, that's a 60-yard touchdown.

New England's defense is the worst in football in surrendering 32 points per game. In 12 games last season, Brady was sacked only 15 games. Down 16-7, they declined to go for it on fourth-and-2 at the Patriots 31 and ended up missing a 49-yard kick, then did the same on fourth-and-goal at the 13 with 5:39 to go and again missed the kick, this time from 31.

The Patriots were playing without tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was inactive with a bruised thigh. Likewise in Week 2 with Danny Amendola, who missed that game against the Saints with a concussion. He found the end zone on a one-yard dive after having an 11-yard touchdown reversed upon further review, stopping him 1 yard short of the end zone. The game will be broadcast on CBS and the NFL Network, which will stream the action on its website. "But the defence came through and we found a way to put points on the board". This game airs on NBC Sunday night, so everyone will be able to watch this highly anticipated matchup. Tandy's backup T.J. Ward (hip) was inactive, too.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 5-point road favorites to knock off the Bucs in Tampa.

We'll have up-to-the-minute scoring and stats here throughout the game. Knowing head coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots defense is well aware that every single one of their jobs can be on the line if they perform the way they did last week.
