On the performance front, the phones pack in the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which is now the best-in-class. There is, however, no 3.5mm audio jack.

The Pixel Buds are available for pre-order today, priced at $159, shipping later this year. However, the company has not revealed as to when the shipping of the device will start. It will also be available as a feature in the Google Assistant.

Pixel 2 comes in three colours - Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White.

Another item unveiled Wednesday was the Home Mini, which has all the power of a regular-size Google digital assistant.

The Pixel XL 2 is definitely superior to the regular model, thanks to its larger, sharper display, but there isn't as marked a difference here as there is between the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and the 8 Plus and X. It has an Always On display and an auto sound recognition tech.

The Pixel buds will sell for nearly $160 and ship next month.

It's hard to gauge how well it'll all work with a more complex conversation rather than a simple (and likely rehearsed) demo, but we'll get a better sense for it when we put it through its paces. The camera sports a 1/2.6-inch 12MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture.

The Pixel 2 looks very similar to the original Pixel.

Google also souped up the already highly rated camera on the Pixel, boasting that it will take even better photos than the iPhone. It has Dual-Pixel Autofocus as well as Optical Image Stabilization and HDR+ technology.

There is an 8MP front selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.4 on the both the devices. The Pixel Buds support gesture controls, which means owners can use swipes and taps to control things like music playback, volume, and answering phone calls. The rear camera has the capability of recording 4k videos @ 30 fps.

They have five hours of battery life, and a charging case that holds an additional 19 hours of charge.

Both the devices will come in two storage variants including 64GB and 128GB.

At Google hardware event, the company launched a new generation of Daydream View VR headsets. The devices have IP67 water and dust resistance.
