Three & Out: Takeaways from Rams' 35-30 Victory Over Cowboys

Despite all the yards allowed, the Rams defense was key in Sunday's victory. "We didn't necessarily have to have a late drive to win it, but the four-minute drive we had with seven minutes left was huge".

Here's a closer look at what went down in the NFC West this week.

GOFF'S GROWTH: The throw to Gurley on the 53-yard score was ideal, and he led a clock-killing drive to Zuerlein's final field goal after the Cowboys scored quickly to get within 32-30 midway through the fourth quarter.

Dallas did finish with 440 total yards and quarterback Dak Prescott did throw three touchdown passes. We are still waiting for a true offensive explosion from the Cowboys, but in order to keep up with LA they will need to have their best game yet.

Without question, the Cowboys can do better in the running game.

In fact, it will be interesting to see if Los Angeles can continue to climb in the ranks over the next couple of weeks if they continue to win big games. Jason Witten on assessing the team through four games: "I think we're a good football team".

He Said It (Arizona): "It's Larry Time". You really look at what that defense had done coming into this game against really good teams in Carolina and Seattle. "For the most part when we get inside the 30, the first thing I think about is that I got points".

Elliott rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and caught for passes for an additional 54 yards, including a receiving touchdown, in last night's 35-30 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

"Half the teams in the league, it didn't end well for me", Phillips told the Dallas Morning News last week. Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein booted six field goals.

He Said It: "It's only the beginning".

IL to Allow Medicaid Abortions
David McSweeney, R-Barrington Hills, said Rauner should consider running in the gubernatorial primary as a Democrat. The restrictions were signed into law previous year by Vice President Mike Pence, then the governor of Indiana.

That happened to the Rams against running backs who did not finish top 10 in rushing previous year. It will be vital for Dallas to improve in both of these categories going forward.

Los Angeles will host the Seahawks in Week 5 and then the Cardinals in Week 7 with a date in Jacksonville in-between.

The Indianapolis Colts won't be applying for membership in the NFC West any time soon.

The Falcons lost star wide receiver Julio Jones to a hip injury and also saw fellow WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) leave the game.

Zuerlein finished one field goal short of tying the single-game record by going a ideal 7-of-7.

But things completely changed after the break. "We did a good job in the first half but we didn't do a good job at all in the second half". The Dallas-based franchise now sits at a 2-2 record after Week 4.

The LA Rams have gotten off to an impressive start in their young season, and will have an opportunity this Sunday to prove to the rest of the doubters on exactly how good they are. Kupp finished the game with five receptions for 60 yards. He has 27 carries of 1 yard or fewer this season; he had 26 through the first four games last season. Even Todd Gurley seems refreshed, topping 100-yards rushing last week for the first time since 2015 and scoring three touchdowns in a game.

The Rams have given up an average of 33 points in the last two games against the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers.

Sean McVay may be the youngest head coach in the National Football League, but the Cowboys should be at the forefront in understanding his offensive prowess - joining Los Angeles by way of the Washington Redskins after helping Kirk Cousins and Washington consistently challenge Dallas since 2014 (when he took over as offensive coordinator). Zuerlein is a flawless 14-for-14 on field goal attempts this season.

Graham Gano kicked a 48-yard field goal as time expired, and Carolina stunned New England at Foxborough, Mass.
