Taylor Swift tells US court of shock over alleged groping

The singer was testifying for the first time yesterday in a case involving David Mueller.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift testified on Thursday she was subjected to a "very long" and "intentional" grope by a Colorado disc jockey who appeared to be drunk during a photo session four years ago.

It shows Mueller's arm disappearing behind the singer, with his hand apparently either on or just behind her bottom. Mueller sued Swift in 2015, claiming she'd falsely accused him of groping her and cost him his job. A wage expert hired by Mueller placed his lost current and future wages at almost $3 million. Bell is a co-defendant. Swift also explained why her bodyguard at the time, Greg Dent, did not see the alleged assault. Fans have been turning out to support Swift during the trial.

"I knew what happened, I heard it from her, I heard it from my daughter's mouth", she said.

She also refuses to be blamed for what happened to David after the incident.

Swift told his employer, the Denver radio station KYGO, and the radio station fired Mueller after investigating her claim. According to Swift, the photo is a "smoking gun". Swift then countersued for assault and battery.

When all the fans in line at the meet and greet were gone, Swift testified, she told the members of her team in the room: "That dude just grabbed my ass".

Dent and Simbeck are listed as possible witnesses in the Denver trial.

So major points to Tay for making this about empowering women and victims of sexual assault. It shows Mueller, his girlfriend and Swift standing together, smiling. Mueller testified he did not grope Swift.

"When he went to put his arm behind her, I saw her skirt go up and his hand went under there", Dent said.

The station fired him two days after the alleged incident after Swift's staff called Mueller's boss and told him about it.

For the seven years before he was hired by KYGO, Mueller worked for Nineball Radio, which is known in the industry as a "prep service". She claims a former radio host groped her before a concert in Denver in 2013. Before that, he was on-air at a station in Minneapolis, but fired partially because of his involvement with Nineball.

One of the key pieces of evidence in the case is a photo of the encounter published by TMZ.

U.S. District Judge William Martinez ordered jurors, spectators and the news media to leave his courtroom Wednesday so Swift's attorneys and lawyers for plaintiff David Mueller could discuss undisclosed evidentiary matters.

In a prior deposition, Mueller admitted that this can't have helped his ability to have a career in radio.

She also rejected Mueller's contention that he may have touched her somewhere less inappropriate.
