Deshaun Watson goes 12th to Texans after trade with Browns

On Thursday, moments before using their second pick of the first round of the NFL Draft, the Browns dealt their No. 12 pick to the Texans for Houston's 25th overall pick and a 2018 first-round pick. "It might be in next year's draft, it might be in free agency, it might be via trade".

"This is a ideal situation for us", Watson told NFL Network after getting selected. The second round pick also belongs to Cleveland. Houston had to give up next year's first-round pick to make the leap.

"That's not the reason we did it", he said.

"As I look back, we was not supposed to be here", he said with a chuckle - before he lowered his head and started crying. In addition, they have gone through a ton of quarterbacks which doesn't help.

"In the words of Drake, 'we made it'".

The only quarterbacks on the roster were Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden. While Watson was a prolific college player, his accuracy and velocity are questionable with sub-baseline 45 miles per hour ball speed and a tendency to poorly locate passes.

Celtics look like top seed; Warriors rested for surging Jazz
After a very slow start that saw the Wizards start the game on a 16-0 run, the Celtics were able to come back and win 123-111. Avery Bradley did what the Celtics needed him to do, whether he was sticking with Jimmy Butler or pouring in the points.

April 28, 2017; Houston, TX, USA; Houston Texans first round draft pick Deshaun Watson poses with a jersey during a press conference at NRG Stadium. And while Houston traded down to grab him, they will be celebrating the move for the next decade.

"Yes (but) not yet". The last time the Texans drafted a quarterback in the first round was David Carr in 2002 with the first overall pick.

"I know its going to be a challenge which I'm up for", Watson said. Houston was in desperate need of a quarterback after giving up on Osweiler and trading him away one inconsistent season after signing him to a $72 million contract in 2016. What I don't like is 17 interceptions on a national championship team.

The Texans will offer Watson some of the same advantages he had at Clemson. The Texans made him the 12th overall pick and the third quarterback selected in the first round.

Garrett was not in Philadelphia for the draft.
