NFL Mock Draft 2017: SB Nation updates projections with Combine results

MI linebacker Jabrill Peppers worked out Sunday with the linebackers and once again Monday with the safeties and corners to give National Football League scouts a chance to see him twice and to possibly answer questions about where to draft and play him. Here are five takeaways from Indianapolis.

He helped himself by running a 4.45 40-yard dash and registering an 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump to go with a 36.5-inch vertical leap.

Eddie Jackson, DB, Alabama - Jackson didn't run or perform agility drills in Indianapolis while still recovering from a broken leg. It also doesn't hurt that his head coach at Clemson, Dabo Swinney, gave him a glowing endorsement (and warning to National Football League teams) to after the championship game: "If they pass on Deshaun Watson, they're passing on Michael Jordan".

These words carry an extra bit of sting for some Hurricanes fans since Kaaya represents one of the best quarterbacks - at least statistically - that Miami has had in recent memory. The last week only solidified that notion.

Projected to go in the mid-first round by ESPN, Peppers may be out of reach for San Francisco unless they trade back to get him.

Players who tested well can pick and choose what they want to do at their respective pro days.

Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham can still catch Chelsea
Those make-ups, starting with the 1-1 draw in August, read: 2-2-0-1-3-1-0. Lots of Pochettino's men played solid, but unspectacular matches.

"I really can't swim that well", Ross said.

And for the Colts, they are looking to break their playoff drought. "This is one of the deepest tight end drafts in history".

CB Marshon Lattimore (Ohio State) - There's been plenty of speculation about Lattimore sliding into the top 10, and he flashed some of the best speed out of anyone at the Combine when he clocked a 4.36-second 40-yard dash. Even more important, though, may have been an astonishingly quick 6.85-second mark in the three-cone drill, as questions linger about his on-field ability to bend and change directions.

Kupp didn't necessarily have a bad combine, he just didn't have a good enough one to stop other receivers from overtaking him in the draft. At or near the top of that list is Forrest Lamp. Former SEC tight ends dominated in the sprint, with Ole Miss' Evan Engram running a 4.42 to win the event, and Alabama's O.J. Howard turning in a 4.51 to finish second.

An athletic player being athletic at the combine gets overblown, but not with Hodges. Fournette also ran only.02 seconds slower than Cook in the 40 yard dash. "He's not as good as (Brian) Cushing, but that's the same kind of mentality he plays with".

Lattimore could be the first cornerback off the board. Qualls competed in the NFL Combine on Saturday with multiple teammates (not pictured) and had a stellar performance, finishing second in the bench press with 33 reps of 225 pounds.
