The Storm Prediction Center has put part of the region in the Enhanced Risk area for the possibility of numerous strong to severe thunderstorms on Wednesday. The thunderstorm threat doesn't ramp up until tomorrow morning. Straight-line wind gusts could be as high as 60 miles per hour.
We will continue to monitor this weather pattern closely for you until the threat of severe weather ends.
Isolated storms this evening will transition to a line of storms later tonight as a cold front moves into the state from the northwest.
The storms are fueled by a strong jet stream surging into the eastern half of the country, blasting atop a warm and increasingly humid air mass, according to the Weather Channel.
Wednesday's high temperature is forecast at near 73 degrees, with a low of 38 degrees forecast for Wednesday night.

IEMA and local emergency management agencies will be promoting Severe Weather Preparedness Month throughout March. Protect yourself from flying debris by covering your head with your arms, a coat or a blanket.
MacBride advised people prepare for the storm in advance in case of outages and other emergencies.
