Some gobble down turkey, then shop to start holiday seasonBy Shelly Foster Nov 25, 2016
While revenue from "Amazon Black Friday" sales usually double that of any normal day, it still falls short of e-commerce activity on Amazon Cyber Monday.
Keeping all this in mind, if you do decide to go out shopping on Black Friday, exercise caution with the large crowds and do not forget to be courteous towards those serving you. So why are some retailers making the night of Thanksgiving the beginning of Black Friday?
Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days on the United States calendar, with retailers offering discounts of up to 80 percent on big ticket items.
ShopperTrak, which tracks retail trends, expects Black Friday to be the busiest shopping day of the season. So, instead of waiting to be surprised at the store and losing out on precious time, scan the apps and stay updated about what items are going to be available as part of the best deals. Online retailers like Amazon will also provide shoppers with the best deals this year. And Walmart is ready to meet you - whether at the physical stores or from the comfort of your sofa via laptop or the Walmart mobile app.
With the Target Thanksgiving Friday Sales paper being released before Black Friday it would be a very good decision to come up with a strategy as to how you want to make these purchases. Crowds on Friday, the unofficial kick-off of the holiday shopping season, will tilt older than a few years ago, and also, it appears, more cautious with their money.
Apart from the days, there are a couple of other differences between the two, one is that Cyber Monday deals only applies to online shops while Black Friday is in store as well. Offers.com's survey found 66 percent of Americans plan to shop on Black Friday, which is 24 percent more than past year.

Robert Griffin III will practice this week for the first time since a bone in his left shoulder was broken in the season opener. Browns coach Hue Jackson said it's possible Kessler may need extra time to recover from his second concussion since October 23.
A handful of big-box retailers have eliminated their free shipping minimums for Black Friday and throughout the holidays, granting their Internet customers free shipping on everything, regardless of price. A shopping list will also keep you focused and less likely to be drawn off-track by good deals on things that you do not really need.
Best Buy's deals start at 5 p.m. Thursday and run through 1 a.m. Friday.
Shopping online also allows the customer to price check while browsing the product options, ensuring they aren't overpaying or falling into a Black Friday marketing trap.
Confused about where to shop for those Thanksgiving deals?
If you do shop online, you can use the promo code NOVSAVE15 through Black Friday to save an extra 15% on top of the sales.
As an outcome, Walmart.com now carries many products that online shoppers wouldn't be able to find in the discount retailer's location stores, including branded products like Michael Kors, Ray-Ban, and UGG. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
