Lineup expected this week; four games get backwards compatibility

Microsoft has just officially announced the Games With Gold lineup for the month of December, 2016.

With three years behind it, the Xbox One finally has a sizable library of quality games, many of which will get bulky discounts starting on Black Friday.

Xie Enwei, general manager of management and operations of Microsoft in China, speaks during the presentation of the Xbox One by Microsoft as part of ChinaJoy 2014 China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference in Shanghai July 30, 2014. It comes with a very popular game, however, you might actually be better waiting for Black Friday itself for Xbox One S deals. Plus, all the new fall games are out, and you've probably already fallen behind on the latest and greatest. Currently, approximately more than 280 game titles are stored in the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program.

McConnell will lead Senate GOP, Schumer will lead Democrats
Senate Democrats on Wednesday elected Sanders their "chair of outreach", a new position in the party leadership. The next Senate Democratic leader has also earned the grudging respect of Republicans as a fierce partisan.

Outland will be free for Xbox Live Gold members until 15 December and Burnout Paradise will be available from 16-31 December. Last month, Microsoft made its Games with Gold November lineup announcements on October 24, and if the company was to follow the trend, December's Games with Gold lineup could come out on the 24 as well.

Over on the Major Nelson blog they rolled out details on the four available games for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

The first game coming to Xbox One in December is the underrated open-world game Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition. Sleeping Dogs is an open world adventure set in Hong Kong that mashes up street racing, brutal kung fu, gunfights and a plot that recalls the best of HK's action cinema hey day - fans of John Woo and Ringo Lam should sign up immediately. Is it enough to keep you paying for Xbox Live? Play as Wei Shen - the highly skilled undercover cop trying to take down the Triads from the inside out. Also on offer in the first half is Outland, a platformer from Housemarque filled with lush backgrounds and deep shadows. The game wowed players at the time, offering a large city to explore, addictive multiplayer and sealing the deal with Burnout's uniquely captivating crash mechanics.
