Mike Trout, Kris Bryant Win Baseball's MVP Awards

Each voter selects their top ten players on the ballot; the ranking is done on cumulative points. The award goes to the player that is most valuable to his team, and although Betts was valuable, Trout was irreplacable. Who needs all this ambiguity and debate about what the word valuable means? He scored 17 percent of Los Angeles runs, the highest percentage for an AL player since Rickey Henderson with the 1985 New York Yankees.

"We were both laughing, and Mike said, 'See, I told you my kid was good, '" Thomas said. And the debate will intensify. Some things are too big - like the Bryant kid who was the worst-kept baseball secret in town.

Trout beat out the Boston Red Sox's Mookie Betts and the Houston Astros' Jose Altuve to win his second AL MVP Award. Betts had 311 points. That's value to a championship team.

Trout, 25, hit.315 with 29 home runs, 100 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. Trout is pretty widely considered the best player in the game.

Despite playing for a Los Angeles team that finished fourth in the AL West at 74-88, Trout's outstanding season brought him recognition for a fifth successive campaign. Definitely, maybe even last. With Betts providing a spark for MLB's best offense, the Red Sox captured the AL East title with 93 wins. Maybe, but maybe not.

Trout finished second in 2012, 2013 and 2015. However, the Angels can not continue to waste the prime years of Mike Trout. Of course, that was the last time the AL had an MVP victor who did not play in the postseason.

Two giant cranes tried to remove carriages that had already been cleared of bodies, but it proved hard due to the heavy damage. The Railway Board also insists immediate efforts were made to provide relief and rescue when the incident occurred.

On Thursday, the 24-year-old Cubs third baseman added another major honor to the list - National League MVP. The Cubs' Andre Dawson was the MVP in 1987, even though the Cubs had a losing record.

It was Trout's second MVP award.

If you think about it, that might actually be harder than winning the award four times in five years. Only Barry Bonds has finished first or second in the voting for five consecutive seasons. But, will the league leader in WAR next year win the MVP? The others-Cal Ripken, Jr., Ryan Howard, and Dustin Pedroia. He smacked 39 home runs, had a.292 batting average, along with hitting 102 runs batted in and scoring 121 runs, the league's best.

Bryant was versatile on defense. He was the youngest Cubs player ever to hit three homers in the same game, 10 days younger than Ernie Banks was when he did it.

"I feel like good guys finish first, so being humble and being a good role model for kids, that's something I strive for more than putting up good numbers or any of my individual goals", Kris said, showing just how much of a class act the guy really is. He is also the Cubs first MVP since Sammy Sosa won the award back in 1998. He topped fellow finalists Daniel Murphy of the Nationals and Dodgers rookie Corey Seager. Ortiz finished with 147 points in his final season. So while Betts should have been the MVP over Trout we have to understand that other franchises are arguing that Porcello shouldn't be CY Young.
